Can I run 87 octane in a stock D15b2

Default Can I run 87 octane in a stock D15b2

this is a stupd question I know, but help me out.
I dont have the owners manual. I have been running 91 but that stuff is spendy, especially for a commuter.

Ignore him, running 87 on a stock D15B2 is perfectly fine.

Do what? He's running a stock B2, 87 will work exactly the same as premium in that engine. The only thing higher octane offers is higher detonation tolerance, which a B2 doesn't need.

Just because you are running a certain octane, it doesn't mean extra power will magically appear.

actually im running 91 not 97.


thanks for the info guys, I thought that it was what the car was supposed to have since ther are no PREMIUM FUEL only stickers on it.
Ill be switching to 87 at the next fill.

In all of my other vehicles I have gotten 2-5 MPG better with 87 than with premium.

Around here we have ethanol 89 and it sux, mpg will go down by 5mpg
at least in this car.
