For the second time now, the Acura bolt shown here:

has broken and fallen off, leaving me with a wasted pulley and belts.
I heard of people upgrading this bolt since many of us are having this same problem. Where can I get the bolt and what kind is it? I tried Acura, but all they could tell me is that it is a special bolt that can only be found through Acura
And I also need a new Idler pulley...

Quit over torqueing the bolt FTMFW!!
Seriously, if you have any of the bolt left take it to any hardware store and find you a grade bolt to your liking. You will probably not find a bolt with an extended head on it like the original though.

John, It is good to see you are in a good mood, but I must inform you that the bolt was torqued to factory specs.
In fact, weren't you there when I installed it? I got the part from you dude.

You can get a replacement to get you through Expo from Len, hell get two of them! Take the extra one to your local hardware store and then match the threads with an "upgraded" version or whatever.
You can also get the pulley from him as well.

7 -8 weeks? No way. Remember, I had to replace it again because Acura handed me a defective one. I am thinking maybee 4 weeks.
But, then again, recall that we did not change that belt. The belt going from the crank to the alternator we reused. We did not even take it off the car; we just moved it out of the way.
So, it has no exuse for breaking.
Dang, I guess I should order a couple of them.... My crank pulley has taken a beating though. It still has a small crack in it from when that bolt broke the last time. I need to check the price of that as well
Why can't everything break all at once to minimize shipping costs

Though we did not change that belt, I still had to loosen the tensioner because we ended up removing that belt. But still, you are bad luck and you won't be touching my tensioner.

What I was saying is that we did not touch that belt at all..
We did not even loosen it.
The alternator belt we loosened obviously and moved out of the way, but it never left the crank pulley (that is how we were able to avoid messing with the AC pulley and belt.
Ordering parts right now..
You need anything John? I figured I would offer to save on shipping.
Baranco, FTW

Okay mang, if j00 say so. "I" remember a certain someone needing to replace that same alternator belt, but you are younger and have a much better memory.
I am not needing anything at this time other than new oilpan, pads and fluid. But thanks though.

Stick a dremel tool on the edge & watch it back itself out from the vibration....sweeeeeeet. Ask me how I know. I'm so glad I don't have AC anymore. That stupid bolt (AND THE GRADE 8 variation I tried) all broke 4 times total.
If that's the only defective thing Acura makes, they are way ahead of anybody else

Great! I ordered 2 last night from Baranco, so I should have it here in just another 1 or 2 days. I will definately get the specs on the bolt for you and take pics and what not.
If we could get a bolt that is identical to this "special" factory bolt, I am sure several people would like to get one. I have seen so many people complain about the broken bolt.
