Is any intake manifold different than any other i have a B18 in my rex and i want a manifold. What companies are good or are they all the same? And what is the average horsepower gain i should see? Any feed back would be great!!

Not really worth it unless you got a reason for it. You would see more gains from other bolt ons like a header and exhaust. If you have all those go right ahead, but make it worth wild and have it tuned.

If you want to go by brand, the popular choices are between skunk2 and blox. Many threads between the two in comparison for power and optimistic gains. Also which B18 do you have? b18a, b18b, b18c, b18c1, b18c5? You won't be able to use an IM from a vtec motor on the non-vtec b18, and also you can't use the type-r IM on the gsr neither due to the bolt patterns of the IM, unless you do some custom work. If you have gsr or non-vtec b18, you can have the stock IM ported, or purchase an aftermarket IM.

Well said by all!

Now to just add a touch on myself, intake manifolds matter a good deal with how you will make your power, what is your current setup or planned setup. Will it change? What are you looking for out of it and anything you need from it *example: to fit in a race class*

After this I gained a bit of faith in the old Tech

Porting the IM or port matching it with the stock TB, is the best way to go if the op doesn't want to run an aftermarket IM and/or TB.

I felt power gains and it only cost me about 80 dollars in all for sensors and FPR...got it so when i boost the intake can handle it better D series type-R FTW

There's a company that can port match your TB and IM for about $100 or so, but I can't recall the company name. And heard they were a reputable company as well.

i am not adding a turbo to this car. i am rebuilding a nother b18b for that. This engine is a b18a1 and it has a full exhaust and that is about it. i am going to have it tuned but i wanted to add some bolt ons before i did so i can get more out of my tune. What other mods could i do? Headers and intake manifold and a tune was all i could think of. An suggestions would be great!! The car is stripped to its a 1989 crx HF. Thanks for the help so far!!!
