take the motor out, but before u do mark where it rubs. after takin it out take a sledge jammer n bang the hell out of the spot where it rubs i kno me n my buddy had to do that before we swapped in some b-series motors to have enough clearance for the alternator.
I've heard that you can use a shorter belt so the alternator doesn't sit so far back. I can't confirm this, but it might be worth a shot. I guess it really depends how much of the alternator is rubbing the frame rail.

I had the same problem but i went through 2 belts before i go tthe right one

Belts are numbered by lengths. Go to pepboys, figure out the stock number, cut your belt and see how much u need to take off to make it fit, then buy the one that is the proper length. I just banged my civic tho, much easier, less BS. Plus I didn't care about my car lol.
I just used a body hammer and dented in the frame where the alternator didnt fit. Hasport even said to do this in the instructions that came with the motor mounts. Then I just used a spray can and painted the dent and you can hardly tell its there.
The belt that sneakerfern said to use was Perfect. But now its not cranking over. it seems when my freind was holding a ground to it with his hands it cranked(and shocked the **** out of him) but now it doesnt crank? new post needed, huh? Any suggestions at all?? We did do another ground..
