Default MagnaFlow or Vibrant Muffler for Ek

ManaFlow-70$
Vibrant-110$
which would have a nicer sound (the more quiet the better)

Magnaflow is 2.5" In/Out 4x9 Oval Muffler
Offset/Offset
-2.5" Inlet/Outlet
-14" Body Length, 20" Overall Length.

or the Vibrant on HT Market Place
which would be a better?

i've had no experiance with vibrant, so i say magnaflow. my friend has a magnaflow 2.5 oval muffler on his 325i and was very quiet when first installed. could barely tell it was a aftermarket muffler at idle and light throttle, but opened up nicely at WOT. after about 6 months of DD the muffler progressively got louder and louder, im assuming due to some of the muffler material burning away. its still not extremely loud, but definately has a modified sound to it when at idle and light throttle, still sounds good though.

Obx twin loop. Rsx type-s. That's what I'd pick..

I never liked the sound of the vibrant, I don't see what all the hub-ub is about.

Magnaflow is good imo. I have never had vibrant. But if you do go with a magnaflow, try to get something with an offset. When i got a straight through design magnaflow muffler it was kind of raspy, then i got a center/offset muffler and the raspy went away. Like the previous post stated, it is quite at first, then gets louder as it gets older.

Anywhere from $10 to $50 depending on the shop.

A local shop here, i know the guy pretty well. it only takes him about 5 minutes to weld a new muffler on and he doesn't usually charge me anything.

I thought you only changed your clutch out in the year you've had the car? Or will he do any car you drop by for free (the welding of the muffler)?

Also, you could also get one with a longer length to keep it quieter. i think i have the 18" body and there was still plenty of space (96 coupe)

don't get it crush bent, the piping that is. make sure where you install it they have mandrel pipes so they can do the bends out of that.
