Default 2mm Greddy head gasket

Guys, just wondering if you need anything else when installing this on a 98 SOHC VTEC motor. D16Y8.

I have a friend that changed from head bolts to studs at the same time, but couldn't remember if he did that because of the size of the gasket or just for better strength.

Also, with the stock gasket the compression on this engine is 9.6:1; what will it be with the 2mm one in there?

Im using the stock headbolts.

Im not sure how much the compression will drop but Ive heard around 1.0 but.. definately not 100% sure about that.

Not running a turbo, so it doesn't matter for lag...

if you are not running a turbo then why get a thicker head gasket? you will have less hp if you do that.

you will still feel slower at your bottom end with lower compression. the best thing about lower compression you can boost more.

more air=more power.
note: add fuel!

ha...i was gonna say that but i know you. the length of the stock studs should be ok. matt put the arps for the strength factor as far as i know. see you around P. lower compression? more boost eh? you aren't detonating are you?

J&S Safeguards are a wonderfull thing... Kevin...

No, I just want a cheap way of lowering compression until I get ready to rebuild the motor. It's a thought right now, not sure if I'm gona do it or not. And as for the extra boost, it's kinda stuck at 10 psi now... Can't go any higher with this POS M45 blower. And to think I was sold on superchargers cuz of the no lag issue. HA!!!!!!!!!!!!! Damn, why is experience so expensive to achieve...
