map sensor cause to run rich?????? HELP???????
is there any difference in the map and baro sensors from an 88 crx dx 1.5 dpfi and an 88 crx si 1.6 mpfi?
This is because in my 88 crx dx i did a swap from dpfi to mpfi and then i decided to change out the entire engine to a sohc zc mpfi. My problem is the engine runs rich and i cant figure out why. The only sensor that wasnt changed when i did the swap was the map and the baro sensors. If there is a difference between the ones for dpfi and mpfi would this cause my car to run rich?
I would appreciate any help

no it is throwing the o2 code but only when i am cruising at a steady speed for a while and usually at about 50-60 mph in 5th. But when i turn off the ignition and re start the car the code is gone. Buy i can smell the excess gas and when i changed o2 sensors the probe was really black (a good indication of it running rich)

well if its throwing an o2 code, the o2 is probably bad
not to be mean or anything, but its just common sense.
bad o2 sensor will make the car run pig rich, which is what looks like is happening to you. i bet if you change that, everything will be fine

i thought i already mentioned that i had already changed the o2 but maybe you cant read, not to be mean or anything but yeah i figured that would be the first thing to do.
Thanks a lot for the excellent help

i dont know if you didnt know but obd 0 isnt the most accurate when coming to pin pointing a problem and yes it threw the code after i drove it for awhile and it was warm just like always
It's only one wire, I'd at least check continuity on it just to be sure.
I never had any trouble with my OBD-0 ECU, if it threw a code, I fixed whatever it said was bad and it'd work. I mean you gotta admit, running rich, throwing O2 code, it's a pretty interesting coincidence... I'd start there. I suppose it's possible that if it was randomly running rich for some other reason it could assume the O2 was just wrong, but I've personally never seen this happen. I'm interested to see what happens with this if it's really not O2 related.

the problem is that the car threw a code when i had the stock d15b2 dpfi, after i changed to mpfi with a completely new harness, and now with the new sohc zc which had all the sensors on it the car needs except for the map and baro so i dont know if it could be the wire or those sensors but i dont know what else it could be.
I also checked the fuel supply system like the manual said how to and it flowed exactly the amount of fuel it should of.
