Default Back Seats

has anyone ever taken out their back seats? If so, how to you do it?

Nobody rides in my back seats anymore, and I'm thinking of taking them out to shave of weight.

They weigh a decent amount, but I don't know if I would remove them. I kind of like the less road noise.

There's no point in it for stret driving or even casual racing. The only reason you should ever need to take your seats out is if you're putting a cage in it..
With that said, fold your seatbacks down and slide to the side and pull it out. It's pretty easy. After you get the seatback off, the bottoms just unbolt.

i have my back seats out so my black lab doesnt get fur all over them. they only shaved a little weight but are quite simple to remove. a chiltons manual will tell u how to do it. i think there were only two bolts holding them in. road noise definitely increased especially in the rain it sounds like there is a leak in the back of the car. so as far as driving around town goes its more annoying to have them out then the few pounds u shave by having them out. mine are probably going back in today.

I took the top half of my seats out when I went on a cleaning spree. To take those off, fold them down, there should be a velcro strap, then undo the bolts, it's pretty much common sense.
The bottom half seats have bolts under the carpet I believe.

it is more the 5 pounds even more if you take out all 3 seat belts and seat belt blots and everything , but in the end its not that much, also its true the noise is kinda loud, if you do a kit it can look clean ive seen it on a ep3, and it looked like there wasnt ever seats there

dude, definately not worth it in a DD. I took mine out to pick some seats up and it was terribly loud. I have exhaust and my friend and I had to yell when I gassed the car. Besides, I don't think I even felt any significant weight reduction.

As already said, its crazy loud and realy not very much weight, but. Fold down the seat backe (I hope you know how to do this) there is a velcro tap on the smaller seat side, lift this and take out the 2 10mm bolts. then pull that seat out of the outside and put it aside. Then there is a bolt holding the swivle bracket to the larger seat side (it is 10mm aswell I think) remove this and push the seat towards the outside of the car to slide it out. Then there should be one more 10mm bolt and a bracket comming from the lower seat to the back side of the seat. remove this and then the only thing left is two clips that hold the front of the seat to the car. Pull up on the front of the seat and these will come out with some effort. This is on a 2002 ex I hope it helps. Reverse steps when the noise becomes unbearable.

It's easy to do, but it's obscenely loud. It's like less than 6 bolts/screws to take it out.

I had to take mine out so I could replace the rear speakers a few weeks ago.

i just took mine out a couple days ago, i don't think its that bad, at least 4 people described how to do it so i won't repeat. its not that loud and i just drove in the rain and its really not that bad.

then again, i still have a stock exhaust.

its easy but not worth it. 15lbs at the most savings is not worth the effort.
