so I just bought this '90 CRX from my friend and he claims he couldnt get it started, and the mechanic said it was somthing with the timing. I tried starting it today and first off the batt was low (I tried to charge it up) and when I would turn the key on sometimes the engine light would come on and would buzz and other times it wouldnt. the times it wouldnt I would try to start it but all I got was a "click" sound. I dont know what is the matter, can anyone help?

I tried checking around at a few wires they all look like they are connected properly, Im wondering if it might be the batt or the starter, but why would the engine light come on a buzz?

 

ps. its the 1.5 fuel injected motor, and I only bought it for 175$ so no worries. what would be a good chioce of motor to put in this that would be cheap to buy, last long, able to take some nice upgrades, and quick to instal?
