Default Process of my motor swap over the weekend...(56k no way!)

well some of you might remember that i was building a turbo motor, forged internals etc, well this weekend was a long weekend here in toronto so i got started on the whole swap and bay clean up, here's some process pics

~~Day 1~~

it's 5am.....i'm tired....but the motor is ready to be pulled. DC24me and i started at about 11:30pm, he stayed till about 2ish (thanks again jeff!) and then i've been working till now; even smartass dropped by to say wuddup! so far i've taken out:

AC
AC condensor
Power steering
ABS unit
all connections
battery
radiator and fans
bumper
fenders
side skirts (eff u they are going back on :finger: )
hood
and probably someother stuff i can't think of right now. pics:

~~Day 2~~

better late then never here are some pics from the process on saturday:

the mandatory pose:

motor finally out!

so long origional B18B, it was pretty good to me....

where do i put the hamster?

new heart finally out of the basement haha (sorry no pics of the basement extraction, everyone was helping lift it outta there so nobody could take pics :doggie: )

head:

who is this guy and WTF? he's not even looking at what he's doing!?!

ohhh....it's our prezz! buff4prez! haha

mmmm nice and shaved :D

slapping the head onto the block, memeber non-vtec dropping by to help me out of a jam :yeah:

cams in:

and that's all for now, i'll upload more later from sunday. a big thanks goes out to the members who came by to help out,

kraz13
non-vtec
trini-tunerel + wifey
buff4prez + wifey
wildoutwhiteGSR
Engsr
1DA2NV
DC24ME

thanks alot guys! i owe you all a round

~~Day 3~~

~~Sunday~~

diden't do too much, had to get some sleep and gave the neighbours some kind of quite on the long weekend:

getting the motor all prepped up:

decided to tackle the tranny clean up, here's it before:

pretty gross i know. so i sprayed it down with some simple green max, then wildoutwhitegsr sprayed it with some easy off oven cleaner..haha.

hooking up the power washer, this thing is really useful.:

after that i just sprayed it down with the power washer and left it alone for the rest of the night, it was pretty cold out. in the mean time, wildoutwhitegsr and engsr were working on lining up the cam gears and timing belt:

they got that done, then we went to KBBQ, got teH iTiS and called it a night.

~~Day 4 (today)~~

woke up early (yes that's right, i got up early :finger: ) and i wanted to get a good day's work in. so i down'd a can of redbull and went at it. i also put the suspension and fasenend the ball joints so that i can put the wheels back on and have the car as a rolling chassis. it was such a nice day out so i rolled it outside:

then i started with the tranny. all the grease was gone and it needed a nice coat of paint.

masking:

painting:

and here's how it turned out, it should match the motor nicely.

i also painted the tranny mount black, here's the final result:

next i turned my attention to the bay. i removed all of the ABS brake lines and damn were those a bitch to come out. i also took everything out that won't be going back in, so as it looks now is pretty much how it's going to stay, the only things really that are going in are the motor/trans, wiring harness for the motor and a civic 1/2 rad. :

the bay was pretty damn dirty. i then put all the electrical into bags, and tape'd them closed. then started to spray a bunch of simple green all around the bay:

time to break out the pressure washer again:

had to get all up in there..

annnddd...the after; the simple green and pressure washer worked like a charm. all the thick, years of grease, oil, sand came right off, the paint actually looked pretty damn good, but with spots of rust here and there i'm still going to paint the bay:

that took me the better part of the day:

due to a stripped rotor screw, i had to break off the old rotor to install the new rotor and dizzy cap, so that's ready to go and is on the new motor now:

then i buttoned up some little things onto the motor:

i then decieded to call it a day so i can relax a bit, got alot accomplished today, the motor will be in the car by the end of the week, just waiting on some last min parts but i coulden't resist seeing what this would look like :GrinDev: :

thanks goes out to craz13 for his help today  :yeah:

thanks guys, this year i'm going to run 10psi, hopefully that gets me over 220whp, but then for next year i think i'm going to do a vtec head and crank up boost to about 15-18, retune and a GSR tranny with an LSD.
