Acouple of weeks ago my brother made a package purchase (multiple parts in one deal) on some used parts for his 96-98 hatch project in which included this pretty beat up set of 4x114 16" volk wheels! now he's focusing on re-furbishing them but is uncertain of the price for the process!?. Has anybody on here w/ the same wheel ever had to repair or repaint?!?! and would you mind sharing name of buisness and before and after pix. where did you buy ur volk stickers even?!?!?. Thanks in advance

The rota collection is looking pretty good huh

Couldnt really find any info in the wheel section and thought the traffic in appearance/cosmetic would help find the answer for our questions faster....

I am not sure it is going to be possible to match the color of the wheels with paint since Rays does not actually paint them, I dont remember the name of the process but its not regular painting or powdercoating. They can without a doubt be repaired but it might be better to just have them custom colored something entirely different. As for the stickers, unless you get lucky and find some on ebay or in the marketplace they will have to come from Mackin. Thing is they will not (in my experience) sell directly to you. You must take the wheels to a valid Rays dealer and have them relay to Mackin that the wheels you have are genuine and then they will get you the stickers. They are trying to cut down on the number of rotas and the like with Rays stickers on them. The stickers were 20 dollars a piece when I was looking about a year and a half ago. I emailed Mackin direct so I am not talking about **** I dont know.
Mackin WILL NOT sell you new decals unless you have a receipt from an authorized Rays dealer. They are $20 each from Mackin though, and you need to send pictures of the serial numbers to a dealer, who then turn the photos into Mackin and they approve of deny the sale of the decals from there. They are tired of copyright infringements from people putting the decals on replicas, hence the high price and exclusivity.
I just got my TE37's repowdercoated, and I got replacement decals through Yahoo Auctions Japan. There's almost always black decals on ebay. The blue ones are a pain in the rump to find.

Right
Mackin told me via email that if I carried them to an authorized dealer they had the authority to tell mackin if they were genuine and that was enough to get the decals, but the decals would not be sent to me, only to the dealer. I could be wrong though becuase I traded the wheels before going through with it.

All you have to do is take one of them to a Automotive paint supply store and have it matched its not that hard....

you CANNOT match that lip color with paint. MAYBE the spokes could be closely matched but the lip is more of an anodized look, you cant achieve that look with paint.

You are going to have resurface and paint the whole wheel and it can be matched....There not Spoons..

trust me man, that lip will not be matched by paint. Its too metallic. It is an anodized TYPE of process. I cannot remember the exact name of the process. The lip is a totally different color from the spokes.

Lol...thanks for the help guys i thought it would be a challenge in my brothers part to bring these things to their prime...color matching being the toughest part! stickers even it looks like is gonna present a mission...oh well! Wish us luck cause we are gonna need it, these rims were definantly our wish list, although he's the only one that is gonna be able to rock them (4x114) and they are an awesome enough rim to throw some cash money love at! thanks again guys...keep them pics coming!

is it only the one rim thats been curbed?? the others look to be in really decent shape.(i assume all the tires are holding air?)
i would just get replacement stickers(reproductions or "real deal" but that would be pricey..$160 for a set of stickers vs. replicas for way cheaper??i'd save my $
) and call it a day.
does that one rim have "VOLK" engraved/scratched into one of the spokes??

All are holding air but one...the flat one has a pretty good hit on the inner part...i'll probably convince my brother to powder coat them white after the repairs and get blue volk stickers on them since its gonna be hard to do the same bronze color and a member on here offered to sell me the stickers ( in blue)...that stickerless rim has volk written on it w/a paint marker! thanks again all for the help!
