So like the topic says, my car is squealing. (I have a 1994 acura integra ls btw....)
This only happens when i turn the car on after it hasnt been started for few hours.
I mean, it isnt bad like other ppl i know where it squeals for like 20 seconds or anything.

It does it for about 2 seconds and goes away, but its ANNOYING AS HELL!! AHH.
Anyone else have/had this problem and know how to fix it?? I was thinking some belt was slipping and then suddenly got friction and thats when it stops, but not sure.
Ive even tried belt dressing and it still didnt fix the problem, only temporary.
Any comments or ideas would be great.

 

Check the belt tension. If they are tight or that doesn't help, I would suggest replacing the belts. Have they ever been replaced?

BTW, by belts I mean acc. belts. NOT the tbelt.

 

i gotcha, for as long as ive had the car, no they have not been replaced for as i know.

I was planning on changing all of them soon anyway. Probably going to do so when i change head and valve cover gaskets over weekend.
Just wanted to know if that was what everyone else suggested as well. Thanks for the comments... Im pretty sure it will fix the screaming in engine bay. Ill keep posted with progress.

 

betcha any money your alternator belt is loose, it won't be a timing belt
