Yup she backed into it... I had to replace the grille and now the hood is pushed in slightly where it meets the grille. The "dent" isnt really noticeable, the problem is that some paint chipped off. Any ideas what I should do, I can see rust starting to form and I dont have the $ for a body shop / a new hood right now. (Baby on the way)

Any suggestions to keep it from rusting out completely??

 

Do some body work to it Even if you don't know what you're doing, may as well try it out. Just take your time and think about what you're doing, all in all it's kinda common sense (and technique of course, but that comes with time) it'll look better than rust

Make sure your hood isn't buckled at the crush zones, if it is your car is unsafe to drive. But if it's just a dent on the edge of the hood, you can repair that.

 

dude, its really nothing at all, just a little dent... the real prob is that there is some paint chipped off and it will start to rust... is there anything i can put there to waterproof the metal (primer or something? I dont really know **** about body work)....

Yeah, just feather edge the area and shoot it with some primer. It'll hold the rust off for a while, but it'll come back.

 

ty, thats what i figured.

 

It should last long enough that you can save a bit to get it fixed. Just make sure all bare metal is covered.
