Thieves Must Die!!
27 cars stolen this wekend, and more than 40 breakins at NOPIWell thieves almost got my car at NOPI this weekend. Broke in and snapped my igniton cylinder off my steering column. They took all the insides of it and we couldnt hot wire it. They were seriously so close to stealing it. Another 30 seconds and it would have been gone. Good thing was they didnt steal anything out of the car.???.. Here are te pictures. Anyone have any ideas on what part this is and how much it might cost...?

Just got my alarm put on and everyhting. I already got the NRG Release hub, that will be going on this week.
what year is your car?? i guess it depends on where you are as the price but i have one for 92-95 civic ill let go for $75. pm me if you are interested. you will need to buy the break off bolts to replace the part from the dealership.

jesus christ i would never think it would happen at such a well advertised place with so many people...
if this really is the case and it happens all the time i hope that Nopi and other organizations will spend some money on some sort of patroling security because if this happens often it will hurt their attendence.

no. i was in the event on saturday..and we got there at like 330, i came out to my ca at about 945 at it was like this...im so lucky and i hope this never happens to anyone else
Yeah the metal thing hanging is called the ignition lock cylinder,,and the black thing with the wires hanging is called an ignition switch,,but it seems then took the white plastic pieice with the tumbler (???) Also note they stuck a large pry bar or screw driver between the lock cylinder and the piece it's mounted to,,broke the plastic and bent the metal where it was mounted..After the 3rd time they broke the ignition on my car i just left it hanging..there was no point replacing it or even locking the FUkin doors anymore
Was there anything wrong with the outside of the car? molding pealed? hole under the door handle? or window off the slide? That really sucks and i wonder why they didnt steal it..
BTY that's how it is at e-town nj at the big import events only...it really sucks so much i don't even own a honda anymore.
With yours it doesnt look like you need a whole new ignition switch/wire harness,,you just need the actual switch and the white cover then clean and regrease the contacts..

seriously, i don't know what i would do if i ever caught theives stealing anything in my car, or my car itself. I bet that i would probably lose it and that would mean problems for the potential theif.

read the write up that was posted at the top. Also make sure you add a backup battery next time. This will keep the alarm working and the siren going off. It will also set of the alarm in the battery is disconnected. Make sure to mount the siren in the fender.
