Whistling during certain RPMs ?
I've been getting a whistling noise when im driving my GSR... its at certain RPMs/throttle position i have the gas at. im really confused, and am wondering what it is. all i have on it is aftermarket air filter, air pipe, and blox intake manifold. the car was maintained poorly by the previous owner so i dont know if it might be internal wear... i also have a hairline crack in my stock exhaust header, so i dont know if that might be it as well... help? anyone? thanks!
damn, u sure? wat can i do to make it stop LOL
other than taking the IM off ? cuz im thinking of upping the compression to 11.5 with some Suzuki pistons
but thats another story, and a secret project im working on

that whistling sound is normal. it will happen whenever you add a intake. the sound increases when you add the intake manifold. don't worry about it
probably has a hidden electronic turbo in the intake piping, lol
.....its perfectly fine, intake with aftermarket IM will cause the whistle sound to be much greater and noticeable compared to stock.

hmm... because i know a guy thats been building honda engines for about 3 years now, and he says its gotta be worn bearings er something like that... wat do u guys think ?

i would have to say that guy is an idiot. it is not your bearings it is your intake sucking in air.
it is real noticeable because you have a CAI with an IM. My friends gsr does the same thing. Hell my Ls does it with just a CAI.

It has happened on almost every civic I have seen with an intake and a few integras. Its completly fine. Do not take advice from that guy you know because he is not smart at all. Why would bearings only make noise durring certain RPM's?

JDM Integra Type R Pistons will get you 11.5:1 and you can still keep your stock gsr rods! go to http://www.inlinefour.com the pistons, wristpins, and rings are going to total $350. well worth it
