Default Check engine light on and idling funny

so my car starting acting funny all of a sudden... the check engine light went on and started to idle funny... i check the diagnostics and the code P0118 came up and said engine coolant temperature circuit high input.... not too sure what it means... i try asking and no one seems to know...let me know how i can fix it and where its located and what i need

Sounds like there's something wrong with ur engine coolant temp sensor (ECT for short). U'' probly have to end up replacing it, use the search button for ECT or engine coolant sensor I'm sure u'll get lots of helpfull information.

tried searching... but now i want to know which sensor is it because i dont want to buy the wrong one... is it the sensor located under the distributor or the sensor on the thermostat housing???????
