Default H23axle change and questions..

I posted a while ago with a pic of honda's 40 point inspection results. I drive a 92 4ws si, automatic. yes i know..

So, my cv boots were torn, decided to get new axles. They were 50 bucks each at meile auto parts.. I'm about to change these out for the first time and had a couple of ?'s

1st: While I was shopping around for axles, I saw that on ebay, a popular seller is selling axles and had a pic. The driver side front looks like this:

On the other hand, when I looked at the one I bought, they looked like this:

does anyone know why they look different?

my other question is should I be concerned about all the little things I found wrong with these axles such as:

paint chipping off:

and this:

gap from that ridge and the boot

ok. but do you know if my driverside is supposed to look like the one that's on ebay? because it does not have that thing in the middle. my replacement one just goes straight through.

btw, that site is under construction.

i think ull be fine...the mark in the green circle is supposed to be there. It's for when u put the axle nut on. your supposed to bend it in there so it doesnt back off if that makes sense

the one you bought is probably a rebuilt unit,
and take everything off & then repaint the shaft.
the top pic was removed from an existing vehicle
so it has the original stuff on it

I understand that. But they look structurally different.

That one up top has a ridge and something else on it. Take a closer look at the pic.
