I was just wondering if this is safe. I want to do it if it saves me some time, cause I have been doing it by hand and I cant make it shiney.
"if the head is appart, i usually do it. all the lexus engines i have done, 5 of them, 2 got a valve job and the other 3 got lapped. i use valve grinding compound from permatex, and a drill with a tire valve stem in the chuck. it is a judgement call, if it were me i would atleast do that if not a full valve job at that mileage."
this was a quote from someone bit I dont know how to quote someone but I tried

Don't use a drill, you'll never get it shiney cause its not supposed to be. I use the valve grinding compound from permatex and a few drops of clean engine oil at work. When your done there should be a nice even dull gray ring where the valve and seat were touching.
Just take your time with it, last time we had to do a valve job it was on 2 v16 CATs.. 128 valves to grind and lap, all by hand.
