Default Oil Squirters vs. weisco -- weisco wins

Well i am currently putting my block together and i have Searche doin this buy the way. The piston skirt is hitting the squirter. We i have seen some other past threads about it but NO one can give a straight answer.

--I understand i have forged pistons and my not need them. The weisco rep said that there should be .30" clearance. Well WTF why make the damn things with clearance issues. do i have to shave. or take them out.

The main question is. These oil squirter's needed for forged setups and why or why not are they neede . Prolly not but i would like some answers from engine builders.

Thank you in advance!

you can either pull them and plug the holes, or bend them a bit.

you don't need the squirters, since forged pistons can handle heat better than cast ones.

squirters sap oil from the galley that feeds the crank bearings, and they make more oil on the cyls for the scraper rings to wipe (more can creep into the chambers and promote detonation), but squirted oil is the primary lube for the wrist pins if oil isn't force-fed thru the rods.

either way, enough have succeeded with and without them that it shouldn't worry you if everything else is done correctly
