Default port volume

how important is it. Is it important for each port to be cc'd to be sure each port is .2 within each other?? lets hear some cold hard facts, and reasoning!!!

No need to be within .2ccs of each other. Im not saying go polar opposite and hog one port out and leave the other stock.

With a plenum setup, you have alot of flow variation between cylinders anyway, so while nothing is bolted to the head the port volumes may be .2cc's within each other but what do you think happens when a manifold is bolted on?

Put it this way, it wouldnt be a bad thing if you could get them all exactly the same volume, but i dont think it is what distinguishes a so-so head from a great head.

CCing can be used for several things.
1. to help quantify one port from another in purchasing different heads.
2. help you determine average cross-section of port. (then you need the length of the port ect.)
With cross-section you can measure the speed of the air down the port.

Or you can just use a pitot tube.
