"I Used 2 Fingers..."
short levers,
when I'm blipping the throttle when down shifting and breaking (HARD) i keep getting an uneasy feeling in my breaking because of my break lever hitting my other 2 fingers. if i adjust the lever further out then i lose the consistency of break force.Do i just need to get short levers or is my technique wrong? my hands aren't by any means small, i wear between a XXL and a XXXL glove.

Wow really? I don't know anyone that does it like that.
Adjust your cable for your brake lever and you should be fine.

there's no cable to adjust for the brake lever, it's not a bicycle. And it sounds like he's already played with the adjustment of the lever.
Try changing your brake fluid. My brake lever doesn't come anywhere near the bar under hard braking, but when i had my stock brake setup it would. Get some SS lines and new fluid and maybe it'll stiffen it up enough to keep it away from the bar.

when you go looking concentrate on Lever shape... look at the different configurations(there are really two main kinds). it will all become clear when you see the shapes. if you have no more adjustment, your cable may need to be replaced from stretching

am i confused? If we're talking about brake levers here, then there is no cable to adjust.

My rear wheel comes up long before the lever even comes close to my fingers. I would spend the money on good fluid, ss lines, and good pads... not levers.
Bleed your mc and brakes, that will probably fix it.

the bike is a honda 919, i can move the lever way out there where it wont come anywhere near my other fingers but then i dont have the constant break when im blipping the throttle. i don't know, maybe i just need to work on my technique. or maybe i should just put a RC51 master cylinder on

It doesn't matter what bike you have there shouldn't be that much play in the lever. Post a pic of where you have your lever is normally and fully depressed that might help. How long have you had your bike and when is the last time you bled your brakes?

the bike is an 03' with about 3700miles on it. i bought it a few months ago with 1800miles. my guess is that its the original fluid.
also, i tried using my middle finger and ring finger and i gotta say im a little shocked... it felt pretty good. i dont think ill every try to learn to break that way but it wasn't bad.

i've got an rc51 master on my bike and i can two finger the brake and blip the throttle no problem. The lever comes no where near the bar. I did this on my RC51 and F4i as well.
I use just my middle finger for casual riding. If i'm riding with any kind of intensity, or in thick traffic I'll use my middle and index. My braking feels smooth and comfortable on my bike, but try putting your hand further in on the bar (if you can) to give your other fingers some more clearance....
FWIW I always clutched with two fingers as well, but my Triumph requires the lever going all the way to the bar to completely engage/disengage the clutch (regardless of how it's adjusted). It took me a long time to re-adjust to full-handing my clutch. However I would try to avoid doing this with your front brake. The more fingers on the bar the better imo.
