can anyone help me cause i just bought brand new 10000k hids for my 95 civic and i just put them in and they are not blue they look like stock color but a little brighter.....and i hooked up everthing right and the book says 10000k right on there so i know i got the right ones....is it just becuase i need to let them warm up or something? the website i got it from is http://www.xenoneyes.com/index.php?page=hidkits

well i just put some 6000k into my ek a couple days ago and they were very bright white and after some time they turned bluer... maybe you just just need to let em warm up..

 

Im pretty sure he meant 10k.. They should be a really bright purple if they really are 10k

 

With the crappy plug and play kits the colors are all going to be different for each company and be similar between 6000k and 12000k

Put regular halogens back in.

That is the number he meant .... 10000K isnt' 10,000,000 ... it's 10,000 Kelvin

By the way, really purple is about 14000-160000K

 

ok i know why they wasnt blue now i was so pissed off and then i sat in my car and for some reason i put the high beam on and they turned blue...lol soooo for some reason my low beam is a stock color and my high beam is when the balster kicks in and it turns blue lol here is a vid.

so you got a h4 plug and play kit, maybe something is reversed where you high beams and low beams are backwards.

i have only seen bi-xenon retrofits. i am not too familar with the plug and play kits

 

yea i thought onece you put these hids you lose your high beam it always stays blue

 

u do lose ur low beam....

BTW u shouldn't be turning them off n on like dat.... Also i have 8k and 10k and da difference between them is 10k looks more like aqua which i didn't like, there not dat bright. Ima try 6k.

so just wondering how'd u get ur low beams to work on h4 bulbs ?? Did u get the Bi-Xenon ?? If so i thought both low n high was supposed to work with the HID's ??

 

There are different types of plug and play hi/low kits. Some have a halogen bulb attached to the HID bulb, while others use a shield or repositioning mechanism to redistribute the light.

 

nope i dont got that Bi-Xenon crap.....i only got the single beam hids thats whats buggin me out

 

4300k is the "stock" HID color as seen in audis, bmws...etc

The higher the kelvin reading...the less lumnens are and not giving you the "brightness" on the road. 4300k is the best choice to give you a better view on the road.

so wait...those two different beams...are they both coming from the HID bulb? or do you still have the regular halogen bulb in there too?...

 

Sounds like you hooked up your HIDS to the high beams, which si why you didn't see the blue color until you turned the high beams on. Yous ay you don't have bixenon so you only get LOW. How many bulbs do you have per housing?

 

nah its only the hid blub in there and it isnt the bi-kit ether thats whats bugin me out why is it doing that
