Default Field VTEC controller question, CRX

Hows everyone doing? Im interested in the Field VTEC controller, intending to remove my speed govenor. Only question is that..my '88 CRX has a JDM B16a, OBD 0, but I'm using a cable speedo setup. Will this be a problem, since this is a jdm vtec controller intended for the electric speedo driven vehicles? Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Mike

The cable driven VSS is converted to an electric signal at the speedometer (same signal as an electric VSS) for use by the ECU. Therefore the ECU sees the same thing cable VSS or electric VSS.

I have head that the vtec controller only kicks the vtec solenoid to the no position and does not switch over the map to the high cam setting. I don’t know this for sure so you might want to check it out. Good luck.
