What causes a cylinder to lean out???
Ok, so most of you know my situation, if you don't, ask somebody. My cylinder number 1 was scarred all to hell as well as my piston. The reason I think it did it, was it got to hoot from being lean. Causing the piston to expand and run the wall. But what would cause this other than a fuel problem? the fuel rail wasn't clogged, but I haven't tested out the injectors yet. Anyone know where I can take them to get them tested to make sure they work?
if it's not the injector, then maybe the oil squirter for cylinder 1. That would not make it lean, but could cause the scaring. If you figure it out, let us know.

well, then why do h23vtec's work without the oil squirters?
Im lost at words because I don't want to build this engine, only tolose it to the same problem

Any pictures of the damage? That'll help us sort things out better. Also, what mods do you have on the car?
But my money's on the injector.

H23 vtecs are not performance motors and only have vtec on the intake cam. and only came in cars with automatics. They are not as aggressive as H22's
