Are all d series shortblocks the same?
Are they all the same in aspect to installing a Sohc vtec head (mini-me)?
The reason I ask is because I was wondering if there is a difference between the sohc blocks and the dohc blocks (zc) like waterpumps, timing belts, head studs, ect. when doing a mini-me conversion between the 2 blocks.
This is what I want to do:
d16a (zc) stock shortblock + D16y8 head
thanks

zc dohc block is slightly different, and will not allow bolt on for SOHC head without modifing the block and the head!

blocks should be the same. I would check teeth on water pump and timing belt.
