Wanna get Body Re-Painted. . Where can i go?
Whats going on guys, I wanna get my Body repainted, but cant find a good cheap place. I live in Northern Westchester, about 1 hour from New York City. Looking to just repaint Electron Blue Pearl, but cant find any place reliable. Any suggestions from you New Yorkers out there? get back to me thanks
Best advice would to be to scroll down and post this question in the paint and body forum. There is a lot of knowledgeable people in there.

Indeed.
Also keep in mind that "good" and "cheap" generally do not go together when talking about a paint job.

So true... I posted this on another thread, but we just did an over-all paint job on a Pontiac Sunfire (not sure why, owner is crazy for spending this much on a Sunfire), but we charged her $2,500.00 total (labor, paint/materials, tax). Keep in mind that we didn't paint the jambs either (color wasn't being changed). You will be paying at least $3k or more for an over-all if you want it done the right way.

patina?
i did some prep- pulled some dents, some 300 grit sanding, removed EVERYTHING removable... they did a great tape job tho, and i'm very happy with the turn out.

i couldnt agree more. im doing an all over on a 300zx this week and we are charging $7000 for it. we r also doing a ford granata (i think thats what its called) and charging hime $2000, but thats only so cheap becuase he doesnt want it perfect or anything he just wnats some paint on the car. (he already cut the jams in using rattlecan). but most quality shops that are gonna do the job right, u should expect to pay a minimum of $3000 i'd have to say. i've done a couple $10,000 ones. i can assure u though, if u go to a quality shop and pay more it will be well worth it as opposed to something like macco. we dont have a macco here but we have a place called spray-glo and all they do as far as prepping the car is a red scotch pad with some comet so be careul how cheap u wanna be

The color is the original stock color- they matched it almost perfectly. so I guess, yes!

Why do you need a complete paint? If you have a few panels that need to be touched up, a good blend does wonders. Outside of a three-stage job (candy), a good painter can blend in new paint, making it hard to impossible to see where they start/end.
in my opinion pricy paint jobs just arent worth it unless you're going all out on a show car that wont see the road..
reasoning is that driving a car on the street, its gonna get messed up no matter what.. i.e. rock chips, door dings, fender benders or just plain stolen..
not worth putting all that money into paint.

my thoughts exactly- thus The Maaco.
I couldnt justify and didnt desire to spend $$ on a car to get me back forth to work- defeats the purpose.
