Default What wax to use.....(dont lock please)

I have a 95 Integra GSR that has factory FBP paint. I just got done waxing my car and it seems almost impossible to get rid of ALL the swirls and minuet scratches.

Here are the following waxes Ive used:

Eagle 1 - Its a good wax/polish considering it was only $6/bottle. It had a deep effect to it however the gloss/shine fades fast, doesnt last. Anyhow, after seeing it in the sun, I saw a HUGE amount of wax/swirl marks. Like I was pressing too hard? I honestly dont think that was the case because I think Im very gently with the application.

To resolve it, a fellow member had suggested 3M 39009 (3M? Perfect-It? Foam Polishing Pad Glaze Swirlmark Remover). To complement that, I bought 06005 (3M? Premium Liquid Wax).

3M - Too me almost 3hours to complete this job. Boy am I still pissed off. Black is a hard car to wax but I bet once I find the technique and product itll be cake.

Most of the swirls have disappeared but some are still there. Towels or my Tshirt couldnt even stay on the surface. Overall, Im happy with the high gloss but still upset about the scratches/swirls.

Next up - I may try going with Meguiar's 3 Step process and get a damn buffing machine. One that oscalates (sp?) while it spins. Any detail guru's out there?

Stop wasting your money.

I don't like Meguiars... it hasn't done anything for me.

If you want to buy it in a store, I recommend Zymol (available at Wal-Mart) but if you want to do it once, and do it right... Zaino.

http://www.zainobros.com

I would invest in:

Z-2 8oz Zaino Bros' Show Car Polish for clear-coated paint . $12.95
Z-5 8oz Zaino Bros' Z-5 Polish for swirl marks & fine scratches . $16.95
Z-6 16oz Zaino Bros' Ultra Clean "Gloss Enhancer" Spray . ..$9.95
Z-7 16oz Zaino Bros' Show Car Wash (concentrate) . ..$7.95
Z-18 4oz Zaino ClayBar (removes airborne & paint contaminants) . $16.95 (really any clay bar will work, but while you're ordering, may as well pick this one up.)
ZFX 2ml Zaino Flash Cure Accelerator Additive for Z-2, Z-5, Z-3 NEW . $19.95

and since you bought all this stuff, they'll throw in ONE free:
#314 4x5 Zaino Bros' Custom Polish Applicator (100% virgin cotton) . ..$2.50

YAY!!!

haha...

Zaino Products = ESPECIALLY on a black car.

The results are unbelievable.

Seriously, stop buying crap. If Zaino can't fix it... you either need lessons in cleaning your car, or you need to take it to a professional.
