Default Need help fast! turns over but wont start!

I have a 88 CRX with a D15 and here lately things have slowly been getting worse. At first when the problem started, it just wouldn't start for a bit, only turn over. Then I'd keep messing with the ignition and just bump it a bit and finally it would kick in and start. Over the past two weeks, it has gotten worse and worse, takes longer and longer to start. Now, it finally quit and will only just turn over but wont start. I can spray carb clearner in the throttle body, and it'll start up but then just dies when I'm not spraying anymore into it. I've been told it might be the fuel pump or fuel filter, if not then it was a firing problem (maybe distributor itself) but, any help would be appreciated it, I should have a new job soon and if I don't get this car running i'm screwd on that job. Thanks for any help in advance.

I would say main relay or distributor problem, but you should search...gl

If it will still run for a moment when you spray it, it is not the distributor.

Their are 3 possibilities. In order of easiness to fix.

-fuel filter; this a very distinct possibility
-fuel relay. this can get cracks, or just burn out and it gets flaky. it is under the left hand side of the car, just above the hood lever and starter relay.
-fuel pump; this is a possibility. it is a PIA, but it is a possibility. If it is bad, then you have to pull the tank, to replace it.

-On the fuel filter, you can just take off the two hoses that attach to it, under the hood. Then you can just try to blow through it. If it doesn't pass air easily, replace it.

-On the fuel relay, you should be able to hear the pump kick on for about 2 seconds, when you first turn on the ignition. The relay has 2 stages, which are both required to power the fuel pump and the injectors.

-On the fuel pump, you can bypass the relay and hot test the fuel pump. The connector fitting is under the rear seat. If you pull off the fuel cap, you should be able to hear the pump running. If it isn't running, then that is probably the issue.

Go with the easiest/most common, first.

Thanks alot, we are replacing the fuel filter tonight or tomorrow. We'll see what happens after that and go from there. I've gotten the car completely started three times in the past two hours, it's really odd. I got it started by basicaly popping the clutch and got lucky I got, it started right up. But once I turned it off, it wouldn't start again, I finally just sprayed some of the B-12 in the throttle body again, but let it set for about 10 minutes. Went outside and started it, and it cranked right up. I just got done turning it off again just a bit ago and now it wont start again haha So, we'll see what happens, thanks again for the info and if anyone else has anything keep'em coming.
