Default Can anyone give me an idea?

Hi all,

I'm new posting here, but I have a one month old 07 civic ex that I just bought. I want to change the gauges and stereo and all the color stuff on the dash to the sweet orangy-red color of the si. Is that possible?

Also what other mods can I do for the ex that will increase performance without spending so so much, I have to keep making my car payments so it can't break the bank.

Thanks so much,

Matt

I dont think anyone has swapped out the clusters yet....

Personally it SHOULD be plug and play (with the exception of an auto harness to manual that might not plug in) if your even auto

but you run the following issues....

1 The Si cluster has already in the cluster which visibly is a little ricey.
2. The radios you can swap IF you are going from an EX to an Si, a lower model you will run into AMPLIFIER issues.
3. See 1&2

This is all based on assumptions and having the car pulled apart numerous times.
but I believe i'm 99.9% right.

I have the top of the line loaded EX with everything but navigation. I believe they have the same stereo set-up and everything. It is a 5-speed manual. I'm also new so I don't know car-tech talk . In the older civics I know you could change the backlighting color in the gauge cluster and stuff without an issue, it was just a color palette or something of that nature.

I don't know with the new ones.

With the older civic's its just a matter of changing out the bulbs... on the newer civic's you'd have to swap out the entire unit(s) -- Radio, cluster, speedo, etc. Totally not worth it unless you're getting the stuff for super cheap IMO.

Inexpensive mod for starters would be some springs or an intake/exhaust.

Suspension first. If it rides like **** there's no point in going faster/harder.

I don't know for sure, but I don't think the blue/red clusters are an easy swap. Keep in mind that the Si has a redline shift indicator light... I'm no electrician, so I dunno if that poses a compatibility problem. The wiring might be different.

As for cheap performance mods, get some front camber bolts (~$30). A touch of negative front camber will do wonders for cornering performance.

I've decided to stay with the blue, my fiance also told me she liked the blue better than the orangy/red also. Now I just need to decide what to do for some performance upgrades....
