afr's , and other weird shit ????
hey guys , i have a b18c1 motor with a ITR tranny ( hydro ) , the car is boosted if this makes a diffrence , anyway my speedo all of a sudden stoped working and my car is like boging and makin poping noisees when @ idle and my AFR's are like goin insane lean. The motor finaly gave me a CEL so i got the code and it was code 17. VSS thats for the speedo and what not , now if i replace this will my car run fine? just weird because the speedo and the weird afr's and bogging all happend at the same time thnaks for any info.
I would definately replace the VSS, that explains why your speedometer isn't reading.
When was the last time you cleaned or replaced your o2 sensors?

Your ecu reads what gear its in by vehicle speed and load. When the sensor goes bad the ecu doesn't what cell to run and throws a code and cel and limp mode begins.

Are you sure on this?

I know my chipped P28 and can tell me what gear I'm in and 100% accurate. Honda spends millions on R&D.
How else would the ecu be able to read what rpm, mph, load you are in and know what fuel map to give you. Pull one part of the equation and it goes DUH. Limp mode.
