****need over help with b18c1 swap****** crank pully/altenator/ xmemeber
hey what's going on guys.. i was wondering if i could get some words of wisdom from those who have been in the ef game a long time. i'm fairly new to ef's and i just dropped a b18c1 in mine. the motor sits in pretty nice, but i've run into some problems that i don't believe were covered in some of the things i've read.
some background info
using hasport mounts
dented where the altenater goes like said to (about a 1/2 inch in) and bent the rear lip like supposed to, also pulled the old tranny mount off the cross member in hopes that i wouldn't have to notch xmember for clearance
1. my altenater pully sit really close to my frame rail. i have dented it about as far as it can go and it is slightly fine if i just move it up all the way forward with and use a small belt
2. my front crossmember i am about to hack to ****.. the first issue is i beleive to be because i bought a dc 4-1 header for a 94-99, i dont know if it will make any difference if i get the 00-01 because i have a 00 gsr engine. there is no room for my cross member and header with out really notching my xmember the other weird thing is that for some reason my header does not have a spot for my 02 sensor and all the same dc sport 4-1 headers have the whole for them?? weird
2a im talking to the shop i got it from and trying to get a 4-2-1 dc header and see if that helps out and clears my xmember or getting an innovative member but i keep hearing no don't get it.. yes get it.. just want some concrete facts.
3 my crank pully has no room. it wont even go on?? so i guess i have to get a EK9 crank pully?? would there be any issues using one of those on a gsr motor? the real problem is that it would be fine with only 2 wheels but that 3rd one if i could even get it in where it goes would grind the hell out of my frame rail in 2 seconds
advice would really be appreciated.

i believe with the header i am going to get them to trade me the dc sport 4-1 for a 4-2-1 and just notch my stock crosmember and fab it if the 4-2-1 does not clear
another weird thing is that the header have about 6 inches before would even meet up with my exhaust. also the guy tells me that all of the 4-1 headers dont come with a pong? for the 02 sensor. the whole for it..

save yourself time and just use stock B headers, that should clear just fine, and as for your crank pulley...i didnt have that problem, and never heard of it, but im usin innovative mounts tho......but look at ur motor, if its sitting at a tilt,...thats probly your problem.....cuz my motor was sitting at a tilt, the driver side was up too high, so i just added washers to bring it down, and i was good...but even before that, i still was able to clear the crank...so good luck
Don't trade your headers just get some ebay traction bars, bolt right up in place of your front cross member. you won't notice the difference. That's what I did w/ my ef. also go on ebay and buy a cat back system for the ef's w/ b series swaps that eliminated my exhaust issues!!!

for the xmember, yeah either notch it or get the replacement.....i'd go ahead and get aftermarket, it's a worthwhile upgrade

thanks
if i would have known that i needed a N1 Cp i would have already had it on,... the good thing is that i was already planning on getting one..
my motor may be at a tilt i really haven't finalized everything.. the motor is in and the harness is run through the firewall and im still trying to get the altenator clearance how i want it so i didn't tighten the mounnts all the way down (i think) me and another friend are doing it. so he might have already tightend them to specs.
i think im going to get the 4-2-1 if they will trade me. and then fab my stock cross memeber cause i really dont like the innovative or full race setup ups. i like at least the illusion of structural integrity. plus they sit a little to low for my taste.
