How to put metal rod back into trailing arm bushing?
Ok, I have the ES trailing arm bushings and the instructions are decent, but they contradict each other.
Step 3 says to install the metal rod back into the bushing exactly where it was on the OE bushing, but then step 4 shows the guy putting the bushing in the trailing arm using 2 washers and a long bolt, which would be impossible with the rod in there.
Does this mean you install the rod in the bushing as the last step?

it is off of a EK, but has the same concept.
good luck!

Thanks but I have seen that thread before, they are using a different type of bushing. The engergy suspension one uses all the stock components, it just replaces the rubber part. The mugen and prothane ones have everything on them so you take out the entire oem bushing and replace it with theirs.

i heard they can be very squeeky and also can cause a large amount of oversteer.

So have I, but I don't think it happens to everyone or it would be easier for me to find information about those incidents. Hopefully those problems were due to installation error, so we will see. If it causes problems and I trace them to those bushings, I will remove them and make a big post explaining what went wrong and why not to buy them.
Either way, I already spent the money and have everything ready to go in. I heard to eliminate squeak you can spray them with polyurethane lube/grease correct?

The 1/2oz ES lube containers I feel is not enough for a whole masterkit.
Buy the 8oz ES lube tub and be very generous with it. As for the squeaking I dismantle all suspension components once a year for inspection. Lube as
directed.

I can see disassembling them all, except for the trailing arm bushing that seems like it would be a PITA, well I guess getting the metal rod out would be the toughest part. I will be getting to that most likely this weekend.
I have the entire masterkit and lots and lots of lube for all the bushings, I think I will have enough, I will just borrow some from other bushings that will need less.
My question still persists though, how does that metal rod go into the trailing arm? BFH?
