ok so i just got a new thermostat for my del sol because it was overheating. i replaced it and then it drove fine. on my way to work thismorning it overheated again so changed the thermostat and still overheating and when i idle i go from 500rpms to 1500rpms in 2 second intervals and just continously does that...im so bummed
anyone wanna help?

wow, alot of overhating issues, damn summer heat.
by any chance did you burb the system? chances are that is your problem and not your new thermostat.

That and make sure the radiator is full and overflow is filled to min line. Low coolant can cuase that bouncing idle.

to "burb the system" is to bleed out any air bubbles trapped inside. now there is a bleeder valve to do this, but i forgot exactly where it is. but there is another way to do this.
wait until the car is alot cooler, open the radiator cap, start the engine, look at the radiator to see where the coolant is, fill radiator until it is filled to capacity, close up the cap, make sure it is tight, engine temp should be normal.
