Quick, and probably a dumb question. I would like to replace my head gasket, should I just buy the gasket itself for $23.50, or would I need a head gasket kit, which is like $148.75? I've been reading threads on a certain over-heating issue that I've also been having (when car is idling), I thought I may as well replace the head gasket, but not sure if I need a "kit" or just the gasket. Again I'm an auto body guy, not a mechanic. Any kind of help is greatly appreciated, thank you in advance.

No, not an ebay special. Just don't know if I need a whole kit, or if I should just buy the actual head gasket.

 

Guess I'll just buy the gasket itself.
