Default anyway to get engine codes without light??

So just bought a ej2 coupe with b16a in it! And vtec doesnt work.. Im pretty sure its throwing a code but there is no check engine light and i think its because the guy that sold me it might of took out the bulb.. Or maybe the cluster that is in it doesnt pick up the check engine light the same way??

I have this cluster in it..

Is this a authentic jdm guage cluster?? And does it plug in the same?? Would there be any reason the check engine light wouldnt work??

So is there another way other then the light to check for codes?? Thanks!!

Take the CEL bulb out of your stock cluster and put it in the new one?

when you turn the car on does the CEL come on for a few seconds then go back off like its supposed to? thats the easiest way to tell if the bulb is missing.

thats no biggie dude. that looks like is a real JDM cluster though. looks to be , in km/h only and 8200 rpm redline instead of 8k even.

7-TPS-throttle postition sensor.
10-IAT-intake air temp.
21-VTEC solenoid
41-oxygen sensor heater.

you can test the sensors , but im thinking you could have some wiring issues. make sure the above things are plugged in. come back and tell us what you find.
