Default Is it possible to run a DSM T25 on a B18C1 EK with P/S, A/C?

Anyone know?

I'm trying to keep my daily driver fun, without having to rev it out to redline to feel torque. I don't mind a turbo that dies up top because It's my daily, and I spend 99.99% of the time between 2k-5.5k rpm.

Can anyone suggest a turbo with super fast response that would be feasible for my setup (I need to keep A/C and P/S).

Thanks!

I'm not looking for opinions on the turbo choice, I know what I want. I'm 30 and have had a dozen turbo cars with twice as many different turbos.

A 16G will not make MEANINGFUL torque on a stock B18C until after 4000rpm. If anything I'd use a 14B, but I really want the instant response of a T25... I don't care if it dies up top.

why dont you get a small t3 then. .42/.48 or .48/.60.

If you're serious and rarely visit redline, I'd suggest this, the unthinkable. Sell your B18C1, get a B20 longblock, then use the money saved to get a GT28R. You will be happy as a clam with it. More torque, better turbo, more fun.

If you really want validation on your turbo choice, go find a gutted DSM that still has its stock t25 in it. You can figure its 0.2L extra will cancel out the 2 points lower in compression. They have almost instant boost, but it feels like running your hand up a girl's leg, but stopping an inch from her crotch. You know there's soooo much more to be had, but its just barely enough atm.

If you want to split the difference, I'd suggest the 50trim T3 from above. With a good exhaust you will see good power w/in that rpm range, and it won't be super-expensive if you ever decide to upgrade.

A 50 trim is way too big for what I'm looking at. My 2.0L MR2 Turbo doesn't spool a 50 trim until after 4000rpm.

I'm thining maybe a 42/48 T3 is a good suggestion. I just have ZERO experience with T3's that small.. I only was stuck on T25's because I've driven them and know what they feel like. I suppose with a T3 footprint my options are nearly unlimitted down the road.

T28. Uses a T25 turbine but has a bigger compressor. The lag between that and the T25 is so minute, you'll never even notice. And even though you say you won't visit redline, it will still have a little bit more extra oomph.

What about a T3/Super60?
It's basically a .42/48 A/R turbo.. that's pretty small.

With a T3 footprint, I should be able to upgrade down the road to even a 50 trim if I wanted to, right?

Anyone use one of these?

If you alreay own a fleet of turbo cars and want strong linear torque, why not just go with a mild N/A set up. Get a junkyard LS block, CTR pistons (cheap), top it of with your GSR head with some CTR cams and tune it with Crome on pump gas. I'm sure your EK weighs a bit more but in a 2250lbs. CRX, we went 12.9 @ 108 on drag radials. On street tires it was blowing the tires off in 1st and 2nd. Just an idea.

Nah.. a serious N/A build up still isn't going to make the torque of a T3 super 60. I'm making a spreadsheet and my totals are around $2,000 for a complete kit (Turbo, IC, injectors, ECU, etc).

Evans had a bone stock GSR with a T3 Super60 @ 10psi that made 287whp and 218wtq. There's no way I could get that kind of torque to the wheels with an N/A.

http://forums.evans-tuning.com...=2743

Not to mention this car made 125wtq @ 2000rpm... simply impossible for a <2.5L N/A, or I might consider it.

In the end, if I stay in vacuum and tune my cruising AFR's with turbo, I can still get over 32mpg (what I get now, untuned).. won't happen with a fully built NA with cams, etc.

ei mang im a t25 user and i love it...boost starts at 3500(even more less sometimes) and gives a good kickin, nice torque. but as we all know...dies at the end, but its ok with me. like you its my daily ride. i really drive alot and i'm enjoying this baby turbo! we dont have the same engines though, i have d16 with a/c and p/s..and im not having problems with them so far.

my tuner suggest's that i get a bigger turbo like td05 in the future if i'm not satisfied. yes im planning to change it. but for now im gona enjoy this! i can say that im still satisfied. i have ridden a few big turboed cars with whoping hp's. but still this tickles my nerves. just my 2 cents :D
