Mufflers don't give horsepower.

If you want loud, get a Buddy Club Spec II, APEX'i N1, or an RS*R GT-II.

i discovered a loud muffler but it was by accident, here are some steps you can take to get the same noise i had, but intentionally:

1: buy sawzall
2: cut centerpipe before resonator
3: enjoy the bleeding eardrums

The nos stickers are what give it horsepower

just run straight headers thatll give you the sound you want

I bought a Magnaflow for my 94 Ex. It was terrible. You will love it, obnoxious and loud. Not so cheap at about 450 though.

Being louder might seem like your faster; but its not going to make you any faster just by thinking it does.

on my car, the stock muffler was cut off and a resonator was welded in place, then off the resonator, about 3" of piping reached to the end of the car and then it goes to a tip. So i have a total of 2 resonators on my car. It creates a relatively loud sound (not hurting your ears / getting cops attention loud), but the best part is that there is absolutely no "fart" noise to it, its just a deep and loud exhaust tone. I also discovered after washing my car, if water gets into the resonator right behind the tip, it gets louder for a while lol. but iono, i like it. I didn't put it on though, the previous owner did. I drive a 2000 Honda Civic EX btw.

Louder wont really make your car faster, however a more free flowing exhaust will. Thats why people run open header. My car dynoed at 208whp with a silencer in my muffler than I took it out ran another pull and made 220whp. Less restrictive flow is louder, but can free up power. However it wont do anything on a stock car.

ahha my freind has a vr6 jetta. basicly stock. with only half the exhaust. im not sure what all is underneath there but the pipe opens right under the front compartment of the car and its a vr6 so it has a decent engine note. not at all raspy. but because its right under the driverseat its the most obnoxious car to sit in on the planet earth. so ******* loud. inside and out. im surprised hes never been puleed over for it.
kidna off topic but just thought id add to the conversation with random side banter.
