Default A/C compressor has 65+ psi on the low side

My A/C stopped working about a month ago and I thought at first it just needs a recharge, but when I checked the pressure, it's at 65 psi. Any thoughts as to what could be wrong?

2001 EX

The pressure is that high even when the car is turned off.

The defroster doesn't work that great without A/C.

I took my car into the dealership. They found the problem to be the thermal protector on the a/c compressor to be bad. Replaced and it works great!

The most useless post ever ^^ Go '07!

Its likely that the compressor clutch has failed. It seems that these sanden compressors suck. Honda quality has been steadily falling. Anyhow I had a similar problem, I simply replaced the compressor and had it vac-ed and charged. Works good.. for now..

Good luck
