Anyone know where i can buy a 4-2-1 header that is legal in CA? Im looking for one under 200 bucks. Heard it has to be ceramic. If anyone knows where to buy them or is selling one please let me know. I have a honda del sol 97 vtec. I tried craigslist and ebay but not too sure what exactly im looking for that will fit in the del sol. I have a DC 4-2-1 1 piece but its the JDM one w/out the carb plate on it. Its in real good condition and its coming off my car soon for about $125-$150 depending if I want to hot-tank for an awesome finish.

the material of the header doesn't make it legal or non-legal in california

if it has a carb BADGE on it, it's legal, regardless of material

Semi correct.....a lot of people are making fake CARB badges and putting them on ebay headers. As long as the part truly is CARB exempt, and the CARB # matches the part it's on it's fine, otherwise it's a REALLY steep fine, I heard something like 500+ and you have to take your car to a state ref.

I believe the only companies that makes a CARB legal headers are DC sports and edelbrock .

Because of your budget you will need to wait for a used one to come along as they retail for a ridiculous amount given the minimal gain(3-5whp at the most)

how do you protect the bottom of the headers when your car is slammed. I noticed some scrapes on the bottom of my headers due to the f'ing bumps in New York . Is there any kind of protective wrap that can fix this?
