Default h23 vtec ?????

Hi, I've built up h23 vtec. h23 block, crank-rods with type-s pistons, stock h22a JDM head rebuilt as well....

I'm a bit disappointed of results.. engine runs great but I'm sad about compression. i'm only at 225 across. Isn't that a bit low????. Not burning oil but I was expecting lot more... I've done 191 whp on dynapak. 2.5 exaust and jasma headers. ...Are these specs ok or too low???? thanks for your help!!!

Don't bother with the compression test numbers, as long as they're consistent across they're fine, there are too many variances in different guages to judge CR by compression test #s

Dynapack numbers are hard to compare bc they're not very standardized, but that doesn't sound bad or anything. Look for about 190-200hp at the wheels on that setup. Upgrade the cams and you would see some nice *** gains.

Ok and also, I have a air/fuel ratio gauge and even when let's say flooring the 5 th gear , the neddle is mooving really fast from normal to rich but not constently. may I be little too lean cause one of my freinds had gone dynoed somewhere else and his air/ fuel is pratically always on rich position.

The best upgrade you can do for your car is to get it professionally tuned.

period.

That is probably a narrowband which only reads and shows when the ECU is making fuel corrections, it won't tell you your exact air/fuel ratio. In reality, it's another blinky light to look at.

Yes good point, what kind of A/F gauge do you have? Hopefully it uses a wideband sensor...

no, it's only an reader witch takes the o2 sensor's readings . But the fact is that when I'm accelerating let's say 35% throttle, you can fell the car accelerate less and more , following the little air-fuel ratio neddle as she goes from rich to lean 1 or tow times per seconds... thats why I tought it may be a little too lean....

Like I said, it's a narrowband, It'll only tell you when the O2 sensor is telling the ECU to make fuel corrections, the O2 sensor could consider .2 higher or lower than stock running rich or lean, so it would throw the colors all over the place.

If you had it dyno'd, then you must of had it tuned. Right?
