Default Suspension

I searched. I read. Now clarify.

I read everything this website had on suspension for 06+ si's.
For the most part, it seems ok to just buy springs, right? as long as i get it aligned a few days later?
Or should i just buy a whole kit, camber, springs, etc.?
Who has gotten a drop with 18's on? I dont want any rubbing issues.
Can anyone reccomend any kits or just springs to me? i got $$ but i dont want to go broke over it, but i want quality.
i would like to order them first thing tomorrow, so any help would be... dope?
post links if u can. thanks.

So I suggest a full kit. Coilovers or HFP. I know a few people on this board have broken struts by doing springs only.

Can't find the threads, but this was several months ago someone posted about blowing out thier struts after replace springs. I believe they were Tein springs.

not to thread jack or anything but i'd also like to hear everyones opinions on struts with certain kits.. i know its a good idea to upgrade when u install springs but i was planning on the eibach pro kit for my 07 coupe which lowers less then 1.5 inches.. would that cause premature wearing out of the stock struts at all being such a mild drop and if so would it be ok until konis come out. i'd install the struts when they come out regardless of whether or not the stock struts are compromised on a mild drop but i was just wondering.

It depends on what you are looking for. I personally have had nothing but good experiance with Eibach springs. If you dont mind spending the money then get a set of H&R full coilovers. There is also another option that I have no personal experiance with but there is alot of people on H-T using the Ground Controls with Koni shocks. I have learned that it is a excellent mid-ground between springs and full coil over.

They are still aiming for June/July unless there have been more problems with them aquiring specs (or was it molds?) from Honda.

im not a dumpppppppeed type guy. i prefer function.

like my one friend has an rsx-s, stock, lip kitted dumped on ground controls. There was another rsx at the meet. Absolutely beautiful. OEM lip kit, fogs, type-r wing on ssr comps. Of course my ricer friend with blown struts says yeah, but im lower.

So if i were you and you were me. I'd would go w/ the pro-kit.
Cause thats what the pro's use.

dont get me wrong, im not lowering it strickly for looks. im more about the Go than the SHOW.... my question is strickly for performance reasons, not what would look better. Thanks for your input!

anyone else?

Pro-kit OR Sportline??

i gave them a call last month. spoke to 3 different employees. none had a clue.

i just checked my email which i sent last week, dude says, "At the moment, KYB does not plan on offering AGX's for the newer 2006+ Civic."

Koni Yellows ftw.

My 2 cents....

Rather than take everything apart twice, get it all done while you have the car jacked up and all apart.

Plus, in the slim chance you blow a stock strut on your way to work or something, then you'd have to deal with that fiasco. Just seems easier to get it done the right way all at once.

i thought about that. but i wasn't waiting for someone to design struts. you act like its a major over haul.

I too am looking for some springs or coil overs but dont have the $$ right now for a whole kit so Im leaning toward the pro kit myself. I just got some enkei FZ1 rims tht are an 8"w wraped in toyo225/40/18s and I have had a rubing issuea nd actualy pulled out the clips the hold the inner fender the the outer. im wondering if im going to have more issues buy using the pro kit or do I just trim up where its rubing???

I personally have the hfp suspension on my si, but will upgrade soon. I would get either the new buddy club coilovers (with pillowball upper mounts) or eibach sportline springs/koni yellows (which should be coming out very soon) or eibach sportline/prokit springs, koni yellows and if needed, ground control sleeves. FYI... the eibach prokit is 1.0/1.2 inch drop and eibach sportline is 1.4/1.4 inch drop. I'm also taking into consideration my new Rays Evil 18x7.5" wheels which should be in this month or June. Can't wait...
