So I inherited this car...
Hey guys, I'm new here and was hoping to find some advice on a car that I inherited about a year ago. Now this was my first car, so I didn't treat it all that well. I now have a problem with it and was hoping you can offer some advice
Here are the specs:
1998 Honda Oddessey
V-4 Engine
160k miles
It previously had 2 owners. When I got the car it had a few minor blemishes, but the only thing that seemed wrong with it was when it was idling, as it idled very loudly.
Also, I once threw it into Neutral (stupidly, as I thought I was saving gas) when I was going downhill at about 90mph.
However, right now I have a major problem with the car. Every time it stopped, it would lurch forward a bit, as if trying to change into neutral/first. Now, it's gotten even worse, and today when I was driving the car, it seemed to lurch forward after every gear change, then it seemed to slip out of gear on 2nd/3rd when it just revved high. I got scared and just parked it.
Do you guys have any advice as to what I can do to either fix or who I should see to fix it?
Thanks :D

First off, the most visited forum IS NOT the right place for this to be. You won't make friends by posting things in the wrong place here.
As far as your transmission problem, how about a dealer, or a transmission shop?
MODS: Move this to the right forum please.

The bad news is you have a crapping transmission. The good news is that you can easily find a new transmission for it.
I'm not sure where this thread started but it's in the right place now...
good luck

Since this model of the Odyssey was based on the Accord platform and uses the same drivetrain as the 4-cylinder Accord. I would suggest asking drivetrain related questions in that forum.

Where was this prior to being the SUV forum?
Regardless, who cares about friends, it's the internet. The most visited forum usually yeilds a higher traffic rate and more visibility to the question at hand...therefore it's a better place to post.

Yeah try I-4 engine.
Just buy you an H22 swap from HMO and drop that in there. A 200 hp minivan.
Or trade it on the v6 version.
Personally the H22 would give you a pretty fun ride for hondas crossover vehicle.
Those things are seriously jokes. Its like the Accord wagon on steroids body wise with the same dinky engine.
