How did this happen?
I got my zc block rebuilt and it always smoked a little. i thought it was the seals or something but it got worse. i took off the head last night and found this. I have only been running the motor for like 3 months and not pushing it at all. Is this inproper installation of the shop? Thanks Guys

Are those stock rods? If so, it looks like the wrist pin didn't get pressed in the rod centered, and it's rubbing on the cylinder wall, or it somehow moved. Either way...no good.
If they're aftermarket rods and have a floating pin, maybe it's not secured properly.

yes their stock rods. So in other words the shop didn't do the job right? I just don't wanna get screwed and them tell me its my fault this happend.
yep, looks like a piston pin. i had a friends engine do this when he spun a rod bearing. i think in his case the rod got very hot, expanded and let go of the pin.
little update. the shop is acting all retarded on me that this happend due to the fact that i let the motor overheat or the turbo made it happen im so freaking pissed off right now. the car never overheat and i never pushed the motor hard. is their any suggestions to what i can do or am i fuckd.
