Default H22A Wiring Harness!

Im having a diffcult time with my engine swap, because wiring everything is a big hassle. I went to my mechanic, and they said that my wiring harness is messed up. My 93 Honda Prelude had a stock F22 non vtec. and there saying that you are not suppose to use your F22 wiring harness on the H22. But somebody told me that your suppose to, and add a subharness for the ecu, because of the VTEC sensor, and knoc sensor and everything. But he said you need to go somewhere and get my h22a wiring harness customize. But the h22A wiring harness is OBD2. SO PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP ME!

you forgot about the oil pressure sensor, you need to wire that up too.

u must use an OBD1 wiring harness on your OBD1 engine. or rewire the OBD2 harness, which will be a major hassle

1) What year H22?

2) You can use your stock harness. Just add the VTEC wires. (and oil pressure sensor).

3) Your mechanic is a dipshit.

My friend has the same thing. He has an H22A4 in a 92 Prelude S. After many issues the last problem is the notorious knock sensor code 23. I suggest getting a 92-95 Prelude Si harness, life will be much easier. Also get the distributor off of the H23, if you can find one. The Si should not be too hard to find as they were the most common. Good luck!!!

Do I have to add Vtec Wires. I mean I ordered a subharness from Rywire at http://rywire.com/store/9295-p...c28e8 I thought the subharness connects all the vtec crap.

All you need is either the F22 harness or H23 harness and just add the Vtec Solenoid and Pressure Switch if using the H23 harness and if you use the F22 harness ,you will also need the knock sensor wired.(cut them off your H22 harness) If you have an H23 distributor you will have to use the external coil. If you are using the h22 internal coil distributor, you will have to wire that for it to work.

NO!!!!!!!! I don't know where to get one but it will make the job easier. You will not have to figure out how to get the damn knock sensor to work. Not saying the knock sensor is that important, but it will cause the car to hesitate when the CEL code 23 is on. Oh yeah, you will also need the knock sensor from an H23 or OBD1 H22A Good luck!!!

I had a 92 Accord EX with the 97 H22A4 swap. After many failed attempts at wiring the knock sensor I just got a P72 and got it chipped for an H22 with the knock sensor disabled. All was good after that. Maybe you should get a P28 or P72 ECU.Then you can keep your F22 harness, simply add the 2 wires for V-TEC!!!!
