Default Quick help! 2000 Accord Brake Problem

Just got done changing the rear brake pads on the 00 accord coupe, everything went fine, I put the tires on, filled up the brake system, pumped the brake petal a few times to fill the system...but it goes to the floor still!

I have no brake pressure at all...as soon as i put the brake down it drops to the floor. I checked and the fluid isn't coming out anywhere, and the reservoir is at the same level.

Any ideas?

Thanks alot!

well...im not familiar with the 2000 accord brakes but sounds like it could be your master cylinder..i had the same problem in my 94 and thats what it was..have you bled your brakes before or anything?...try bleeding the brake system and see if that helps..if it doesnt then you probably need a new MC

I just did the rotors and pads on the front of my 98...only problem I encountered was I didn't take the cap off the fluid reservoir and when I pushed the brake to push the piston out, the pressure forced fluid out of a line...I believe it was an overflow though, so no worries. The fluid burned where it got on some things and smoked a tiny bit but that was it. Point is, you might not see any fluid but it could be there....also there might be air in your line so if you bleed the line and there's still no pressure then it could be the MC.

yes that is true but if his fluid level is staying the same then theres no leak...my guess is he has bled his brakes in the past or recently and didnt do it the correct way or he loosened his bleeder screw while doing the brake pad change and go air into the system...a good bleed should do the trick but if it doesnt and you still dont have pressure the MC is probably the culprit

Your exactly right, I forgot that I loosed the bleeder screw... sometimes when you've been working on your car all day, you miss the easiest things...

Thanks alot!
