need help locating speed sensor

Default need help locating speed sensor

i have a 1995 civic hatch dx, 5 spd. and i need to change the speed sensor.. can anyone tell me where it is located? and preferrably with pictures cause im not that mechanically inclined... thanks

follow the axle from the passengerside. it goes into the transmission. on the top of where it goes in there is a sensor with 3 wires.
that is your speedometer.

that is your Vehicle speed sensor. </TD></TR></TABLE>

His speedometer is in his cluster.

can this be located from the top of the car with the hood open or do i need to have the car on ramps/jacks ?

It's on top of the tranny in front of the firewall, i could easily point to it if I was standing on the passenger side of your car with the hood open.

Just look for a plug going into your tranny. You should be able to see it and remove it with just the hood open. No need to jack up the car. From what I can remember, I think it is next to the tranny dipstick...not sure.

it's right underneath where the intake meets the throttle body plugging into the tranny.
