Your clutch isn't disengaging when you push the clutch pedal in.

so what does that mean, it seems to shift fine when car is off but will barely go into gear when car is on

How is the pedal pressure? Just to insure that you are getting the pedal travel necessary, try grabbing the clutch pedal with your hand and pull it away from the floor... When I did my clutch I obviously had to take the clutch slave cylinder off of the tranny. That caused my pedal to sink just enough that when we put everything back together you couldn't really tell visually that it sank but it didn't have enough travel to disengage the clutch.

the pedal feels NOTHING like stock but then again I have never driven anything with a 6 puck in it. Its supposed to feel like stock and it definitely does not. The clutch actually feels to me a lot more loose tan it should

Have you bled the system? Just for giggles if you haven't done what I've suggested, you should just pull it up to see if you lost some travel. It puzzled myself and a couple of buddies for a while and then on a whim I reached down grabbed the pedal and pulled it up and BAM... Went into gear like butter.

You need to double and then tripple check that you got the release fork on correctly with the throw out bearing. Then verify that the ball is completely seated in the end of the release fork for the slave cylinder. If all that checks out then its time to disasseble and check the pressure plate.

Well, when the alternative is tearing everything back apart... Taking two seconds to pull on the clutch pedal isn't a big deal and bleeding might be another good step to take before you were to take everything back apart. I'm just offering the simple suggestions first. I know that when I put something together and it doesn't work right the first time, I get frustrated and don't think clearly so eliminating the small posibilities is always a good idea.

Bleed away. Unless he somehow got air in the system when he swapped the clutch, its not going to do anything. If air was the problem he would be complaining of the pedal being very soft and not returning like it should as well.

thats why I didnt see the need to bleed although appreciate the input. I dont know where to begin and want to avoid ripping it apart again but I think thats where my problem is. Inside the tranny. I didnt touch anything except the pp, and the clutch disc I didnt do the pilot bearing or the throwout bearing because they only have 1000 miles on them but could that be the issue? Should a throwout bearing from a exedy stage one work with a 6 puck ? And why does car shift normal when its off but like *** when its on?

Your problem isn't "in the tranny"... Its in the clutch system. No, you shouldn't need a new throw out bearing. You assembled something wrong, or possibly got air in the system. Since its unlikely that you got air in the system, check the release fork, throwout bearing, pp for proper install.

What I mean is that it doesn't have consistent pressure all the way to the floor. It seems as though the top half has pressure and as you press to the floor, it looses pressure, but I am not familiar with how 6 pucks are supposed to feel in comparison to stock or an exedy stage1

Sorry didnt mean IN THE TRANNY, I meant in and around the pressure plate. Either way I guess it needs to come apart again

While I agree that your suggestions very well might be the problem... To me pulling everything back apart before you have expired some other smaller possibilites first seems like overkill... What if he tears everything back apart to find out that he assembled everything correctly and ultimately he could have solved the problem by eliminating small things first... That's all I'm sayin' man!

Your car won't start. Do you:

a) assume the motor is blown and tear it down for a rebuild
b) check the battery to see if it's dead

the reason why it goes in gear not running and wont when its running , is cause the pressure plate is not seperating all the way and its still rubbing on the disc and flywheel a bit , dragging. and if it doesnt seperate all the way , it keeps a load on the tranny , which makes it like trying to shift with no clutch. since your putting such a crazy aftermarket clutch in it , although this is not always necessary at all , very rarely actually , you might have to play with your pedal adjuster under the dash. if you didnt disturb clutch when tranny was out , and all you did was change PP and disc , than try adjusting it. under the dash about clutch pedal is a threaded rod and holding nut.

before you do this , start the car , get it into a gear , and tell me does the clutch grab high or low? when you start letting out clutch in gear , does it start to grab close to floor , or close to top? if it grabs close to floor , which i beleve it will , adjust the rod so its pushing the MC more.

hmm now that you mention that the higher gears, like 3,4,5, I do recall maybe needing to push the pedal almost all the way through the floor board befroe I could get it in gear. How do I adjust the pedal accordingly
