AWD civic wagon / sedan motor swap?
i was thinking, what if someone could swap a b20 with the b20 tranny into a wagon or sedan and keep it awd. use b20 halfshalfts, maybe custom driveshaft / differential.
can it be done / been done?
can it be done / been done?
anything can be done with the right amount of money and patience
they could easilly do a dohc zc swap and keep the same awd transmission

i know they come AWD.
i want it because its awd, but d15 doesnt have the power i want, and i know if i swap it with a gsr or type r its not going to be AWD. thats why i was wondering if i can do a complete b20 swap and keep it AWD.
if i do the ZC its going to use the long gears from the d15.

i saw images once of it done on a crx with crv parts, it looked like nothing was bolt on or anywhere near it.
it was only about 6-7 images with no text or explanation, the car was black.
it also didnt prove it ever left that garage.... guy could have given up on it.
what your saying is logical, but the problem is finding room under the car for the extra drivetrain components and the difference in wheelbase that usually make it too cost prohibitive.
the allure of doing something like this is "hey this other honda has it oem so ill just use oem parts!" but you end up at a custom drive shaft shop anyway spending thousands....
unless you have the connections, patience and ability to weld.
i can prove it to you anything is possible, heres a front wheel drive ONLY mirage, with a full 4g63t AND welded AWD

but if you read some of the stuff that guy did to make it work in his articles, youll see what your going to up against.
the other problem with using oem parts is honda awd system is pretty different from a true AWD and i dunno if youve ever been under a EF wagovan, but those rears are like toothpicks.... which would be no problem if there were any type of aftermarket solution to beef it up....
but this is a 18 year old honda, not a mustang or a camaro where they can go to pretty much any car catalog and buy some new rears for themselves.....

Ive got a dohc zc in mine. People keep telling me about an adapter plate to fit a h22 to the 6spd awd tranny. That might be something to look into. Then let me know your results lol
