Clutch pedal feels different...break in/6 puck question.
Alright, so I have my 6 puck clutch and 10 pound flywheel...last night the pedal started feeling a bit softer. Maybe it is just me, I'm not sure. I still have that "sweet spot" where I can let the pedal up some before the clutch actually engages, but it seems like the engagement point is lower than it was before. There is still that "spring" in the pedal when I let off....but it just feels somewhat different than it previously did.
I was wondering if there is a difference in the pedal feel that can occur once the clutch is broken in.

you can adjust the clutch engagement point, a 6 puck clutch generally feels different than a full face. there really is no break in for a 6 puck. let it rip.
The 6 puck grabs good, I was told there's a 500 mile break in period but if there is none then...I don't know. I have a problem with it slipping sometimes though. It will grab fine and everything then maybe later down the road an hour or so after getting on it for a while, it will slip. Could it be that it gets too hot?
It doesn't matter if it's 6 puck, 4 puck, full faced. If the disc is lined with Kevlar there is definitely a break-in period. Almost every manufacturer recommends 500 miles.
As far as it slipping, what kind of pressure plate are you using? Did you upgrade to an HD pressure plate? Also, if kevlar lines disc' aren't broken in properly they can slip.

I had the same problem with my 6 puck when I first swapped over to a manual. I forgot to install spacers between the firewall and the clutch pedal. Once I put spacers in the clutch never slipped again.

Supposedly it is just a copper ceramic disc. And supposedly it is an HD pressure plate.

What spacers are you talking about? Would it be on the pedal arm or what? And how would a spacer prevent it from slipping? My clutch doesn't slip all the time....just once in a while and then 5 minutes later it will be working properly again. It's weird.

On a factory 5 speed there are two spacers that push the clutch pedal away from the firewall. With the spacers missing my clutch pedal was not able to fully engage my clutch. It's kinda like having the pedal semi depressed. To fix this, I removed the pedal and put a nut on each side between the firewall and the clutch pedal.
So did you put the nut on the inside or on the engine bay side? And I'm not sure that is my problem because the clutch engages all the time. Even when it slips, it will eventually catch.

what manufaturer's 6 puck is kevlar?? most are sintered metal which there is NO break in for.

I agree with notoriousB, 6 pucks do not need a breakin.
The slippage your getting after the clutch heats up sounds like the disc is getting glazed over from not being fully engaged. I dont know about the spacers people are talking about fixing it (not sure, never messed with it) but if your pedal engagement moved and it feels different (not as firm or whatnot) you are probably not fully engaging = heat and slippage, which will tear up that new flywheel and clutch pretty fast.

There might be a few things....the tranny I bought did not have the dust cover that goes over the underside of the flywheel. I tried finding the part from Majestic Honda and even my Honda dealership and they said it doesn't show up in the computers. So I have no idea where to get one. So maybe some dust or something got inside there and causes it to slip sometimes?
How would I fix the pedal so that the clutch would fully engage? I think it fully engages though, because it hardly ever bogs or slips. But when it does slip, the pedal is fully out and my foot is off of it, so I'm not sure. But like I said, it is only for a few minutes then if I drive it normal for a bit it will cool down I guess and grab like a pro again.
