.paul and I are graduates!
.paul and I spent a romantic weekend together taking the MSF course through Apex Cycle Education this past weekend at the GMU campus.
Pros: perfect weekend. fun little 250's to throw around. ended everyday early so we had time to do other things. The damn DMV waiver is finally in my posession.
Cons: Cost ($349). They are serious when they mean BASIC rider course ("everyone, this is the brake lever"). One instructor was so against sport bikes it was upsetting. (he owned a new harley "ultra classic" that he thought was the damn ****.)
Notes: I counted 5 or so crashes all by the girls, including one chick going totally off course into the grass/brush. One girl got completely kicked out saturday and forced to leave. Both paul and I lost 0 points on the final test.

Better late than never
Here in Tennessee we get insurance discounts for taking it, what ab00t Virginia?</TD></TR></TABLE>
Depends on the insurance company.
ANd yeah, we took awhile, but we got it done. And not to be a dick or anything, but i didnt learn much if anything. In fact I think i was a little upset with them in how much they stressed the rear brake usage. I slid the rear SEVERAL times in front of them and they just didnt care and said it was good i held the rear brake for the whole slide.

The instructor of my class was talking about that. He said somehow it doesnt work out to be a discount with state farm. I can't remember the details but they screw you in the end.

Wow it is really expensive for you guys. We pay 20$ which you can take back at the end of the class if you want.

Because they'd rather spend a lot of
and take the class on short notice instead of planning ahead and spending $50 for the MSF class

I decided to take it because a right handed U turn inside two lanes is BS.
If i had a smaller bike I would have just taken the DMV test.
As for the APEX course, if you never ever ever have ridden a bike, this is great, and it is exactly what it is made for.
How some of the people passed, I have no idea. I fear for their lives once they hit a main road.
Instructors were funny and kept the class entertaining.
Rear braking IMHO was a little over used. They praised when I was sliding the rear while braking, and they did not mind the endo. Granted I was on a Dual purpose bike, so I was entertaining myself.
Meh all I can be happy for is that certificate, calling the insurance company trying to get a discount, and my kick stand plate.
Brian and I had fun laughing at what they called trail braking, engine braking, and some other things.
